Earlier this week Apple CEO Steve Jobs spoke at the D8 conference in California. One of the things he said that really resonated with me was his analogy of PC’s and trucks (extract from CNET):

The Prime Minister recently announced the agreement reached with seven of the eight states and territories yesterday as historic, and representing “the most significant reform to Australia’s health and hospitals system since the introduction of Medicare”.
Under the National Health and Hospitals Network Agreement the Commonwealth will:
Become the majority funder of public hospitals increasing its share of funding to 60 percent from 1 July next year;

Copenhagen’s failure, the deferral of the ETS until 2013 and the global slow down all mean that Carbon pricing is dead, at least until 2013 and beyond. It’s time to forget about energy productivity and focus on selling more stuff to our customers.

A couple of weeks ago we had seven families, about 30 people, over for Sunday brunch. It was a chaotic but collaborative effort, with kids and adults circulating around a large dining table with different contributions from each family.
